Zadar is a city on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, and is known for the Roman and Venetian ruins in its Old Town. This is probably my favourite city in Croatia because it offers so many unique experiences and is nearby Croatia’s larger cities. Below are 8 things Zadar has to offer.
1. Sea Organ & Monument of the Sun
- To celebrate such magnificent sunsets, they decided to build the “Monument to the Sun” on the edge of the Zadar waterfront.
- The Monument to the Sun will connect up to Zadar’s other attraction, the Sea Organ.

- One of the best beaches, Saharun is a short ferry ride from Zadar. It has white sand which is unusual for Croatia and shallow turquoise waters.
4. Old Town
- Zadar’s architecture resembles the Roman, Byzantine and Venetian’s. It also has one of the most famous churches, St Donatus.

6. A major Transportation hub for reaching major cities such as Split and Zagreb

My favourite nightclub in Zadar was Ledana, featuring live music and situated in Zadar’s old town.
